Businesses have begun to change their marketing strategies to win over Zoomers. Izvestia spoke about this, as well as about the financial habits of this generation.
Zoomers or Generation Z are considered to be people born between 1997 and 2012. Their formation took place in the world of smartphones and instability, journalists noted.
The oldest members of this generation will turn 29 in 2026, so zoomers have already begun to play an important role in the market. By 2036, their share in the economy will increase to 29.7% and they will determine the main consumer strategies, the material says.
Among the main financial habits of zoomers, Izvestia, in particular, highlighted increased attention to the convenience of shopping. Thus, only 30% of representatives of generation Z use bank cards, the rest pay for purchases using smartphones. In addition, Zoomers are more likely than other generations to use online platforms to make purchases.
Also, emotions and trends are especially important for Generation Z. They often make impulse purchases. A significant parameter when choosing for zoomers is the environmental friendliness of a product or brand - 53% of representatives of this generation pay attention to this.
Since Zoomers put their comfort first, they are more likely than others to buy ready-made food, go to restaurants, order delivery, and prefer to rent over housing. Many Gen Zers are also spending money on video games, clothing and online subscriptions.
At the same time, the experts with whom Izvestia spoke noted the financial literacy of zoomers. They watch videos with financial advice, are interested in investing in digital assets, and take advantage of promotions and discounts much more often than older generations.
To win over Generation Z, brands are already mastering social networks, the publication noted. According to journalists, there is a trend in marketing toward interactivity and the introduction of approaches typical of computer games.
The emphasis in advertising shifts to the product’s belonging to a niche or trend. Brands will also have to take into account the eco-friendly and ethical focus of zoomers.
In addition, marketers focus on improving the quality of service, in particular, fast delivery or convenient payment. Brands also do not forget about the importance of high-quality images and detailed information about the product.
The battle for zoomers in the material is explained by the fact that this generation tends to remain loyal to the brand, especially when it comes to caring for children or pets. In the pet food category, 43% of zoomers remain loyal to a specific brand, a record high among all generations.
