The creator of “Here, Wear” accused her stepfather of sexualized violence

The creator of the clothing brands “Nate, wear” and N*agent, Yana Koretskaya, accused her stepfather, Denis Zavyalov, a lighting designer working at the Levendal Theater in St. Petersburg, of sexually abusing her when she was a minor. She published a corresponding video message on her Instagram page.

“I was a victim of a pedophile and it ruined my life. <...> Being a stepfather, from my 11 years to my 16 years, he committed sexualized violence against me, and also filmed pornographic materials with my participation,” Koretskaya says in the footage.

According to her, her stepfather “very much ingratiated herself” and also threatened to distribute intimate materials, which “due to her age” prevented her from seeking help immediately.

Now Koretskaya, according to her, has written a statement against Zavyalov to the Investigative Committee. However, she fears that “the matter will be hushed up,” and therefore called on netizens to distribute her video and journalists to contact her and write about her story.

According to Koretskaya, she has evidence of her stepfather’s guilt, in particular, correspondence in which he “actually admits” to his crime.

The sexualized violence she experienced as a child, Koretskaya said, irreparably damaged her health. She said she was diagnosed with complex post-traumatic stress disorder, which in turn led to the development of bipolar II disorder. Koretskaya says that she has the corresponding conclusions from medical specialists.

“These diagnoses are incurable and greatly reduce the quality of life,” complained the founder of fashion clothing brands.

At the end of the video, Koretskaya thanked users for their attention to her story and asked those who might also have suffered from Zavyalov’s actions to contact her. In addition, she expressed the hope that her stepfather will be found guilty and he will receive the punishment he deserves.
