The new iPhone 17e will go on sale on February 19, exactly one year after the release of the iPhone 16e, Macwelt reported .
According to journalists, Apple will not hold a separate presentation for the device, but will limit itself to a press release on its website, as with the iPhone 16e. This is due to the fact that smartphones with the letter “e” in the name are not flagship ones.
The new model will not have the main problem that iPhone 16e owners complained about, sources told Macwelt. According to them, the new smartphone will be equipped with MagSafe wireless charging technology, supporting power up to 25 watts. The previous model from this line had only the Q1 standard with a power of up to 7.5 watts.
The new iPhone 16e will likely have a single camera, just like the previous model. Also, the “eyebrow” will remain in place - Apple decided not to equip this smartphone with Dynamic Island, the journalists’ interlocutors said.
Japanese publication Mac Otakara reported that the iPhone 17e will have a new A19 processor model. Communication in the smartphone will be powered by the second generation of the proprietary Apple C1X modem, which supports 5G and LTE networks.
In addition, to operate Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Thread, the smartphone, according to the publication’s sources, will receive an N1 chip, which is already used in the iPhone Air. This chip supports Wi‑Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, improving the performance of Personal Hotspot and AirDrop functions.
In September 2026, Apple is expected to present a flagship smartphone, which for the first time in the history of the corporation will be foldable. As RBC wrote , this model is currently known as the iPhone Fold. Further, as journalists believe, Apple will continue to develop a line of folding devices and may release a smartphone with a flip form factor - a square folding smartphone on a horizontal hinge.
