Universal Pictures announced that it has signed a contract with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz to star in the fourth installment of the Mummy franchise, The Hollywood Reporter reported on February 10.
Photos of Fraser and Weiss from the filming of the first part of “The Mummy” (1999) appeared on Universal’s social networks with the words “Daddy and Mommy are back.” Fraser starred in the first three parts of the film franchise, Weiss in the first two.
The new part will be directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (“Scream” and “I’m Going to Look”).
Universal has announced that the new "The Mummy" will be released on May 19, 2028.
