Former north-west London nursery worker Vincent Chan, 45, pleaded guilty to 56 charges. The man was sent to prison for 18 years, the BBC reports .
The investigation proved that over almost 17 years of working with children, Chan committed sexualized violence with penetration, possessed indecent images and engaged in voyeurism. Its victims were people aged from two to 70 years.
Judge John Dodd, as the newspaper writes, said at Wood Green Crown Court that Chan is a “perverted and depraved” person who has “completely lost his moral compass.” Chan was also sentenced to a further eight years in prison for collecting and possessing a collection of at least 26,000 indecent images, including video clips of child rape.
In total, Chan admitted to five counts of sexual assault by penetration, four counts of assault by touching, and one rape of a woman. He also confirmed that he took indecent photographs of children 23 times, committed public order offenses six times and engaged in voyeurism 11 times.
The man also admitted to spying on girls and women as they undressed in their bedrooms and used the toilet. He raped one woman while she was sleeping.
Chan was arrested in 2024 after a London nursery employee reported that a man was recording "outrageous videos" of children on a work device.
According to police, Chan, among other things, used a daycare-issued iPad to record videos showing “sexualized crimes” against children at the daycare while he was babysitting them.
