Parents complained about the difference in nutrition between “beneficiaries” and “payers” in schools in the Kaluga region

In school canteens in the Kaluga region, students were divided into two categories - “payers” and “beneficiaries”, offering them different menus. Parents of schoolchildren complained about this, as the publication Podem writes .

For example, parents of students from school No. 26 said that the “beneficiary” students, unlike the “paying students”, were given chicken pilaf for lunch instead of goulash and tea instead of compote. The school confirmed to the publication the existence of two menu options for two categories of students, but disclaimed all responsibility for the current situation. The educational institution stated that a separate menu “has been introduced in all schools in the Kaluga region.” At the same time, representatives of the school claimed that “the supplying organization does not obey them and works under a contract.”

The school said that signs indicating meals for different categories of schoolchildren had been removed, but admitted that the difference in the food offered had not gone away. “We don’t have any signs in the dining room. These little cheat sheets were placed for teachers so that they could control beneficiaries and payers, but these cheat sheets have now also been removed. Children don’t see anything, children just see different foods,” they explained.

After the media wrote about complaints from parents of schoolchildren, the governor of the Kaluga region, Vladislav Shapsha, told Podem that there should not and cannot be any division “in terms of the quality and variety of food.” “Under no circumstances will this be allowed here. If this occurred to someone, then this is a big mistake,” the head of the region emphasized.

At the same time, he assured that “the food supplier has corrected its mistake and ruled out any difference in the composition of meals for schoolchildren.”
