Actor Robert Duvall dies
American actor and film director Robert Duvall has died at the age of 95, AFP reports, citing a statement from the actor's wife.
Duvall is known for the films “Battle Hospital,” “The Godfather” and “Apocalypse Now.” He starred in more than 100 films.
Duvall began his television career in the 1960s. In 1962, he made his feature film debut playing the role of Boo Radley in To Kill a Mockingbird. In 1966, the actor began performing on Broadway.
Duvall won an Oscar for Best Actor in 1984 for Tender Mercies. He was nominated for an Oscar six times for The Godfather, Apocalypse Now, The Great Santini, The Apostle, A Civil Action and The Judge.
The actor received a BAFTA award and four Golden Globe awards.
