Actor Robert Duvall dies

He is known for his roles in the films "The Godfather" and "Apocalypse Now"

American actor Robert Duvall has died at the age of 95. His wife Luciana announced this on his Facebook page.

“To the world he was an Oscar-winning actor, director, storyteller. For me, he was simply everything,” the actor’s wife wrote.

Robert Duvall has appeared in more than 100 films. His most famous roles were in the films “The Godfather,” where the actor played Don Vito Corleone’s adopted son Tom Hagen, and “Apocalypse Now,” in which he appeared as Lieutenant Colonel Kilgore.

In 1984, Duvall won an Oscar for Best Actor for Tender Mercies. In addition, the actor was nominated for this award six times for the films “The Godfather”, “Apocalypse Now”, “The Great Santini”, “The Apostle”, “Civil Action” and “The Judge”. The actor received a BAFTA award and four Golden Globe awards.
