The Kremlin did not comment on the results of the two-day talks in Geneva. The Russian delegation announced its return to Moscow

The third round of negotiations between Russia, Ukraine and the United States ended without achieving significant progress, writes the BBC. The two-day meeting continued late into the evening on Tuesday, but lasted only two hours on Wednesday.

After this, the Russian delegation stated that it did not plan to stay in Geneva and intended to return to Moscow in the coming hours.

There were no specific statements from the Kremlin following the two-day round. On the morning of February 18, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that Putin was receiving direct reports from his envoys in Geneva.

According to the head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky, the negotiations “were difficult, but businesslike.” Medinsky himself and the special representative of the Russian President Kirill Dmitriev refrained from making detailed comments.

On the contrary, Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff reported “significant progress” in Geneva:

“Both sides agreed to brief their leaders and continue to work toward an agreement,” he wrote in X.

It is known that the next meeting of the negotiating groups should take place in the near future. Nothing is yet known about its place and time.

• Let us remember that the previous rounds of negotiations took place in Abu Dhabi. As the media wrote , the agenda for the meeting in Geneva was expanded and included, among other things, territorial issues.

• President Vladimir Zelensky instructed the Ukrainian delegation to agree on his personal meeting with Vladimir Putin, Axios journalists argued , since the key condition for progress on the territories is direct negotiations at the highest level. Zelensky noted that any agreement with Russia should be put to a referendum.
