65-year-old artist-jeweler Alexander Dotsenko, convicted in the case of justifying terrorism, has died. According to the political prisoner's support group, death occurred on February 19 at 16:00. The publication SOTAvision drew attention to the post of his supporters.
It is known that on February 12, a 65-year-old man suffered a heart attack. According to his support group, on February 17, Dotsenko began to regain consciousness, but complications immediately appeared - a heart rhythm disturbance was recorded. On February 18, the man’s condition worsened sharply: he was again put into medicated sleep and the medications were changed to stronger ones.
In July 2024, the court sentenced Dotsenko to three years in a penal colony. His wife, artist Anastasia Dyudyaeva, was sentenced to three and a half years in a penal colony. A case was brought against the couple because of leaflets with the words “Putinyaku to Gilyak” in the Lenta store in St. Petersburg. Dotsenko and Dyudyaeva denied that they were their authors. Even the prosecution’s handwriting expert, Anzhelika Vorobyova, doubted their authorship.
