American athlete Alice Liu took first place in women's singles figure skating at the 2026 Olympics in Italy. Based on the results of two programs, she received 226.79 points.
Second and third places were taken by Japanese representatives Kaori Sakamoto (224.90) and Ami Nakai (219.16). American Amber Glenn received fifth place (214.91).
Russian figure skater Adelia Petrosyan came sixth; she made a mistake while performing a quadruple sheepskin coat. Russian-born Anastasia Gubanova, who represented Georgia during the Olympics, finished ninth.
As the Sports publication noted , for the first time since 1960, Russian figure skaters were left without medals at the Olympic Games. In 2026, only Russian singles Adelia Petrosyan and Petr Gumennik competed, and Russian couples and dance duets were unable to obtain neutral status and were not allowed to participate in the games.
