A girl died while riding a cheesecake
A resident of the Moscow region took his children tubing on snowy roads. However, at one of the turns, an eight-year-old girl sitting on a cheesecake fell under the wheels of a car, reports the press service of the Investigative Committee for the Moscow Region.
The tragedy occurred in the village of Rumyantsevo, not far from the city of Mytishchi. The man tied the cheesecake to the bumper of the car and drove it behind him. According to the investigation, the father did not foresee the trajectory of the tubing, which is why the child ended up under the wheels of the car.
The girl was urgently hospitalized, but doctors were unable to resuscitate her. The child died from his injuries in the hospital.
“Parents should remember that it is necessary to exclude any situation that could lead to the death of a child or his injury when riding tubing or other equipment intended for descent,” the department said in a statement.
The girl's father, according to the Investigative Committee, was detained. He is accused of causing death by negligence (Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code). The man faces up to two years in prison.
After the incident with the death of an eight-year-old girl, the State Duma proposed banning the sale of tubing in Russia. Member of the United Russia party, deputy Vitaly Milonov spoke about the situation.
“There are so many accidents involving cheesecakes that it is even difficult to classify this as causing harm to health due to negligence. After all, “cheesecake” equals injury, “cheesecake” means mortal danger, especially when tied to a car. How idiotic do you have to be to do this? Of course, I imagine that now he is reproaching himself and cursing himself for this moment,” the parliamentarian said.
Earlier, in the village of Sylva, located in the Sverdlovsk region, two boys died while tubing. According to the regional Investigative Committee, the children were riding without adult supervision, so they could not protect themselves from the avalanche that came down the mountainside.
