Russian women entered the top foreign brides in Turkey

Russian citizens are among the top five foreign brides in Turkey, according to data from the country's Bureau of Statistics for 2025.

Thus, last year, 28.6 thousand foreign women married Turkish citizens, which amounted to 5.2% of the total number of women married in the country.

Russians are in fifth place in terms of the number of brides. In 2025, 1,630 women from Russia married Turkish citizens - this is 5.7% of the total number of marriages with foreigners.

Russian women are consistently among the most popular brides in Turkey. Thus, according to the Bureau of Statistics, in 2024 more than two thousand Russian citizens married Turks, and in 2023 - more than 2.4 thousand.

At the same time, men from Russia were not included in the top five most popular grooms in Turkey. Thus, last year only 75 Turkish women married Russians, according to official statistics.

In first place in popularity of both grooms and brides were citizens of Syria. Women from Uzbekistan, Morocco and Azerbaijan were also among the popular foreign brides.

Turkish women often married men from Germany, Afghanistan, Austria and Azerbaijan. The total number of foreign grooms in Turkey in 2025 was 5.3 thousand people or 1% of all married men in the country.

In addition, the statistics of the Turkish Bureau provide other data. According to them, the country continues to trend towards a decrease in the number of marriages and an increase in divorce rates. In 2025, more than 552 thousand couples got married - this is 3% less than a year earlier.

The number of divorces, on the contrary, increased by 2.6%, to more than 193 thousand. The age at first marriage also continues to rise steadily—as of 2025, it is 28.5 years for men and 26 for women.
