The most budget smartphone in the Apple line is called the iPhone 17e. It was presented to the public under the advertising slogan: “much more - for much less money,” says the official advertising video.
iPhone 17e will go on sale on March 11. It has the flagship A19 quad-core GPU, released in 2025, and 256 GB of storage. MagSafe wireless charging will also be included with the smartphone.
The manufacturer promises significantly faster charging speeds, although the iPhone 17e does not have access to MagSafe's full 25 Watt power. The new budget model will only be able to handle 15 watts of power, but that's double what the iPhone 16e could handle.
The iPhone 17e also features a ceramic Shield 2 screen, which Apple says is three times more scratch-resistant. The new smartphone also received improved portrait shooting functions. At the same time, the smartphone has only one camera on the front and back. The camera located on the back side has 48 megapixels.
The new smartphone from Apple also received an expanded color gamut. While the logical predecessor of the discontinued iPhone 16e was presented in white and black, the 17e model will also be available in a soft pink shade.
The iPhone 17e starts at $599. Last year, the iPhone 16e sold for the same money, but it had half as much memory - 128 gigabytes versus 256 for the iPhone 17e. Pre-orders for the 17e will be available on Thursday, March 5th at 02:15 BST.
