“Ivanushki” will remain “International”

The lead singer of the group “Ivanushki International” Andrei Grigoriev-Appolonov told TASS on March 19 that the group will leave its name in Latin.

This is how he commented on the statement of the creator and producer of the group, Igor Matvienko, who said on March 9 that “International” in the name should be crossed out, because “I’m tired of Anglicisms.”

Grigoriev-Appolonov stated that “we are always Ivanushki International”:

It’s just that Igor Igorevich hyped it up very coolly. Direct respect to him, very timely, just against the backdrop of the fight against Anglicisms. We were on vacation at that time.

• In Russia, on March 1, a law came into force according to which any “information intended for public information to consumers” must be in Russian.
