Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin for the second day in a row reports a massive attack by Ukrainian drones on the city. On Friday, March 20, Sobyanin’s telegram channel says, 22 drones flying towards Moscow were shot down. On Saturday, March 21, by 15:00 Moscow time, 30 Ukrainian drones were shot down on approach to the city.

On Saturday morning, the Federal Air Transport Agency introduced restrictions on the reception and departure of flights at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport for an hour and a half. Two other airports of the Moscow air hub - Domodedovo and Vnukovo - received and departed flights on Saturday afternoon "in agreement with the relevant authorities in connection with the introduction of temporary restrictions on the use of airspace in the air harbor area."

Moscow authorities have not reported any damage or casualties from falling drone debris. Photos or videos from the crash site of the downed drones have not appeared in the public domain.

On March 20, a light plane crashed in Kolomna, near Moscow, killing two people on board. According to one version, he could have been shot down by Russian air defense forces.

Also on the night and morning of March 21, Ukrainian drones attacked Ufa, Saratov and Togliatti. In Ufa, a drone hit a house under construction, injuring two people, Bashkortostan authorities reported. In Saratov, according to regional authorities, civilian infrastructure was damaged (which is not specified); two victims of the drone attack also sought medical help. In Togliatti, due to a drone strike, a fire occurred in the area where the Togliattikauchuk and KuibyshevAzot chemical plants are located; no injuries were reported.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that from 23:00 on March 20 to 7:00 on March 21, 238 Ukrainian drones were shot down over Russian territory, including over the Moscow region.

World

The Ukrainian delegation arrived in Miami for bilateral peace talks with the United States. The delegation, writes RBC-Ukraine, includes the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kirill Budanov and the leader of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction David Arakhamia. On the American side, the negotiations will be attended by US Presidential Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner.

In early March, it was planned to hold trilateral negotiations with the participation of the United States, Ukraine and Russia. The meeting was expected to take place in Abu Dhabi, but was postponed due to the war in the Middle East. Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that the negotiations are “on pause.” Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, in turn, announced on March 19 that “it’s time to end the negotiation pause,” adding that the American side is “ready to continue working in existing negotiation formats to end Russia’s war against Ukraine.”

Vladimir . Near my employer’s office in our city there is a prosthetics and rehabilitation center where the heroes of the Northern Military District are brought in gazelles. We often meet them in the smoking room around the corner. They stand, some with a prosthetic arm, some with a prosthetic leg, some in a wheelchair without two legs - in general, it’s a difficult sight. But they don’t lose heart there, they get excited, tease each other, even make some plans... At such moments, sipping a cigarette, I want to ask them: was it all worth it? And then the second thought, which brings me to my knees: if they had not gone there themselves, then perhaps you would have been there, but you don’t need it.

Today, many of my friends are disgusted and tired of what is happening, but at the same time they sympathize with these volunteers who, due to a lack of critical thinking, made such a decision. Their lack of education is the relative peace of mind for me and my family, my friends and acquaintances. I am not surrounded by contract soldiers who went to war, only very distant characters with a dubious past and a vague future who made such a decision. […] Lord, I ask you, give us all peace as soon as possible.
