
One person was killed, 10 were hospitalized , another is listed as missing in Sevastopol, annexed by Russia, as a result of an explosion in a residential building on Korchagina Street on the night of March 24. This was announced by the Russian head of the city, Mikhail Razvozhaev.
According to him, as a result of the explosion, walls in one of the apartments on the first floor partially collapsed, as well as internal ceilings and structures from the first to third floors. In a neighboring house, the explosion caused a fire in two entrances. Residents of two houses were evacuated to temporary accommodation centers.
“One child is in serious condition, the rest of the victims are in a condition of moderate and mild severity,” said Assistant Minister of Health of Russia Alexey Kuznetsov.

During the night, Razvozhaev reported about an air raid alert and an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the city, but these messages appeared after information about the explosion. The authorities ruled out the domestic gas version almost from the very beginning.
A few hours later, the investigation opened two criminal cases. We are talking about Articles 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Illegal acquisition and storage of an unidentified explosive device”) and 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Causing death by negligence”).
“It was established that the epicenter of the tragedy was on the balcony of an apartment located on the first floor of the building. As a result of the emergency, the 50-year-old owner of the apartment died, her four daughters, aged 23, 18, 14 and 12 years old, received various injuries and are in hospitals, and her 20-year-old son is listed as missing,” the investigators said in a statement .
Against the backdrop of what happened, the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine reported attacks on military targets in Crimea on the same night. According to the department, the defense forces tracked down a convoy of launchers of the Bastion-M coastal missile system, which was moving towards the positions.
“As a result of precise strikes by reconnaissance officers, one of the launchers and two expensive Zircon missiles were destroyed, another Bastion was damaged,” the Main Intelligence Directorate said in a statement. The intelligence service clarified that the Russian side lost seven people killed and wounded. Russia did not comment on the GUR message.
