The Sheikh-Mansurovsky District Court of Grozny recognized the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria as a terrorist organization and banned its activities in Russia. This was reported by Russian state agencies with reference to the FSB.
At the same time, the court banned the activities of 29 units, which, according to the intelligence service, operate in 14 European countries.
The FSB said that members of the structure are fighting on the side of Ukraine and are involved in “sabotage and terrorist actions” in the Belgorod and Kursk regions, as well as in the murders of Russian military personnel and civilians.

According to the intelligence service, the organization is headed by Chechen politician Akhmed Zakayev, who lives in the UK.
Previously, a criminal case was opened against him in Russia for creating a terrorist community and publicly justifying terrorism. He is also wanted.
Previously, the Supreme Court of Russia in 2024 recognized the government of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria in exile as extremist and then terrorist.
The Chechen Republic of Ichkeria is an unrecognized separatist state entity on the territory of modern Chechnya, which existed de facto from 1991 to 2000.
It was proclaimed on September 6, 1991 under the leadership of Dzhokhar Dudayev after the collapse of the USSR.
After the First Chechen War, the status of the republic was temporarily secured by the Khasavyurt agreements of 1996. But in 1999, the Second Chechen War began, during which by 2000 Russian forces liquidated Ichkeria.
After this, Chechnya was led by Akhmat Kadyrov, the father of the current head of the republic , Ramzan Kadyrov .
Ichkeria positioned itself as a secular presidential republic with its capital in Grozny, but did not receive international recognition from any UN member state.
