Two “Lisa Alert” search dogs were shot dead in the Pskov region

In one of the forests of the Pskov region, two dogs from the LisaAlert search team were shot dead during training. The owner, dog handler and guide of search dogs, Yulia Ivanova, spoke about the death of her pets - two border collies, Basti and Lumen.

According to her, the dogs, which had been involved in searching for people since the spring of 2023 and the summer of 2025, were killed on the morning of April 8 during training to search for dead bodies (BRP).

“Early in the morning we went to PTP training. Everything was as usual. The dogs were working. They are independent in their search and can go far. This time it was like that. And then there are shots. I screamed their names. She ran in the direction where they had gone. I ran and screamed with all my might, calling for them. But they didn't return. I don't know how much time has passed. I was looking for them. And then I found it. They were no longer breathing. They were shot,” Ivanova said on her VKontakte page.

The dog owner noted that Bestie and Lumen were wearing special bright signal blankets and loud bells. “Someone killed them on purpose,” Ivanova is sure. According to her, there are several villages and a military unit near the murder site.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Pskov region said that they had begun an investigation into the publication in the media about the murder of two search team dogs.
