From the Museum of the History of the Gulag, which they decided to turn into a museum dedicated to the victims of the “genocide of the Soviet people,” most of the employees have quit or are in the process of dismissal, with the exception of the administrative and economic department, Vestka reported on April 13, citing a source.
The publication’s interlocutor said that all museum objects from the previous exhibition had already been dismantled in the building, and part of the collection was packed for transportation. It is unknown where the items will be taken.
The renovated museum was planned to open on the Day of Remembrance of the Genocide of the Soviet People - April 19. However, the working date is considered to be June 22 - the day the Great Patriotic War began.
