Schoolchildren began to be taught lessons about the “genocide of the Soviet people” with stories about the “Nazis” in Ukraine

On April 19, Russia will celebrate for the first time the Day of Remembrance of the victims of the “genocide of the Soviet people,” which Putin introduced at the end of last year. Formally, the date is dedicated to the events of World War II, but in Russian schools they decided to use it to justify the war against Ukraine.

Dozens of schools, technical schools and colleges held lessons called “Hour of Remembrance “Without Statute of Limitations”.” According to the lesson script that the Agency discovered , schoolchildren were told about “newly-made Nazis” in Ukraine and the fight against “international fascism.”

“The memory of the genocide of the Soviet people is not just history, it is a reminder of what ideology is being fought against during a special military operation,” Novlyanskaya school in the Ivanovo region.

A separate block was dedicated to Donbass, which in the manual was called “a special territory for every modern Russian.” The teacher should talk about the Saur-Mogila memorial and say that it was destroyed “during the battles started by the newly minted Nazis in 2014.”

At the end of the lesson, the teacher should tell the children about “new attempts to exterminate civilians” and remember about the Avenue of Angels in Donetsk.

“Today, like 80 years ago, the world sees new attempts at genocide, and the “Alley of Angels” in Donetsk has become a symbol of this,” Rakityan Agricultural Technical College, Belgorod region.

The lesson is recommended for schoolchildren in grades 9–11, but in a number of schools it was taught for younger children—sixth graders and even 4th graders.
