VTsIOM: Putin's rating has been falling for seven weeks in a row
The state agency VTsIOM recorded another decline in the approval rating of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Putin's approval level has fallen for the seventh week in a row, according to the results of the latest weekly poll released Friday.
The statistics appeared on the VTsIOM website two hours later than the usual publication time, the Agency notes.
The level of approval of Putin's activities fell by 1.1% over the week, amounting to 65.5%. The only lower figures were more than four years ago, before the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Back in February 2026, this figure was 74%. Another indicator is also decreasing - Putin’s trust rating; 71% of those surveyed by VTsIOM answered positively to the question of trust, which is 1 percent less than a week earlier.
The levels of support for the government and its head are also decreasing, but, according to VTsIOM, the rating of United Russia has increased slightly.
Another state-linked service, FOM, recorded trust in Putin at 74% last week, also one of the lowest in four years.
Sociological services do not report what exactly could be causing the drop in Putin’s ratings. In recent weeks, discontent, including in military circles, has been caused by Internet blocking. The video message of blogger Victoria Boni to Putin caused a great resonance. Bonya spoke about the “huge wall between” the people and Putin and that everyone is afraid of him, even the “governors.”
