A report was drawn up against two residents of Rostov-on-Don for dancing in front of the city cathedral

Police officers detained participants in a video dancing in front of the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Rostov-on-Don. According to the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a protocol on the desecration of objects of religious veneration has been drawn up against them.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs claims that the video “caused a negative reaction” from residents of Rostov-on-Don and “discussion on social networks.” Two girls born in 1990 and 2009 were detained. They admitted guilt, but, as the department’s press service clarifies, “they were unable to clearly explain the motives for their actions.”

The message from the security forces was accompanied by a video in which one of the participants in the recording apologizes to residents of the city and region, representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church and “people of faith.” According to her, the video was recorded on April 4, and the second detainee was her minor sister. The girl also added that “this will never happen again.”

The administrative article under which the girls were detained carries a fine of up to 50 thousand rubles or compulsory labor for up to 120 hours.
