Two members of the Jewish community were wounded in London. The mayor said there should be “no place for anti-Semitism” in the city

Two people were injured after a man attacked with a knife in north London's Golders Green. This was reported by Sky News and BBC News .

The attacker has been detained. According to the Jewish law enforcement organization Shomrim, the man ran down the street and tried to stab members of the local Jewish community living in the area. He was detained by security officers, then the police arrived and used a stun gun on the suspect.

Both victims are Jews living in London, said the city's mayor, Sadiq Khan. He called the attack “disgusting,” adding that “there should be no place for anti-Semitism in society under any circumstances.”

One of the local residents told the BBC that one of the victims was wounded near the store, the second on the street near the synagogue.

As Sky News notes, this is not the first anti-Semitic attack in the Golders Green area in recent months - in particular, in March, ambulances belonging to the Jewish community were set on fire there. The area is home to a large Jewish community.
