Governor Veniamin Kondratyev reported on the morning of April 30 that a fire had been extinguished at the oil refinery in Tuapse. “It was hard work. I understand how much effort and labor was required to eliminate such a large-scale fire - often at the risk of life,” he wrote.
This is the fourth attack on the oil infrastructure of Tuapse since mid-April. After a drone attack on a refinery in Tuapse on April 16 and 20, 2026, combustion products entered the atmosphere, and due to rising water levels in the river, the oil products spilled there overflowed protective barriers and entered the Black Sea.
On the night of April 28, drones again attacked this oil refinery. A regional-level emergency regime has been introduced on the territory of the Tuapse Municipal District.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that on the night of May 1, air defense forces shot down 141 Ukrainian drones over the territories of Russia, annexed Crimea and over the waters of the Black and Azov Seas.
