In the city of Tuapse, on the night of May 1, a new fire occurred on the territory of the marine terminal after an attack by Ukrainian drones. This was reported by the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar region.
According to official data, there were no casualties. 128 people and 41 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire, including the forces of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Ukrainian monitoring channels claim that the attack hit one of the oil tanks, but there is no independent confirmation of this information.
The Kedr publication notes that petroleum products are stored at the marine terminal in Tuapse before transportation. After the attack, according to eyewitnesses, thick black columns of smoke again rose over the city.

This is the fourth attack on Tuapse’s oil infrastructure since mid-April. Previous strikes occurred on April 16, 20 and 28 - each time they were accompanied by large-scale fires at the oil refinery and port.
The last major fire was extinguished on April 30 - on the eve of a new blow. Governor Veniamin Kondratyev then called the fire extinguishing “hard work” carried out at the risk of life.
According to Kedr, in total, in 14 of the last 16 days, fires were recorded at oil facilities in Tuapse.
On the night of April 28, a regional-level emergency regime was introduced in the city after another attack on the oil refinery.

The series of attacks has already led to serious environmental consequences. After previous fires, “oil rains”, spills of oil products in the river and the Black Sea, as well as excess concentrations of harmful substances in the air were recorded in the city.
Eyewitnesses reported black puddles on the streets and thick smoke that spread for tens of kilometers. One day, boiling oil products spilled out of the tanks and onto the streets.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said that on the night of May 1, air defense forces shot down 141 Ukrainian drones over various regions of the country, as well as over the annexed Crimea and the waters of the Black and Azov Seas.
Earlier, “Verstka” reported that the Kremlin bots tried to downplay the scale of the emergency in Tuapse and praised Russian air defense. Almost 1.4 thousand accounts are involved in the campaign.
