The companies Megafon and Yota warned residents of St. Petersburg that they may experience “difficulties” with the operation of the mobile Internet “in connection with the preparation and holding of mass events.”

Telecom operators advised subscribers to use Wi-Fi. Screenshots of the notifications were published by Ksenia Sobchak in her Telegram channel “Bloody Lady”.

Sberbank also warned clients about possible restrictions on the Internet and SMS from May 5 to May 9, writes the local publication Fontanka.

Residents of Moscow previously received similar warnings from mobile operators.

Russian media, citing sources, reported that before the May 9 parade in Moscow, “more powerful” restrictions on mobile communications are planned: on May 5, 7 and 9, authorities plan to limit all mobile communications and SMS sending.
