One of the oldest entertainment portals, YaPlakal, has been banned in Russia.

The Chertanovsky District Court of Moscow declared the entertainment portal “YaPlakal” prohibited on the territory of Russia; “Verstka” found the corresponding decision in the court file.

The district prosecutor's office demanded that the portal be banned. According to the documents, department employees conducted a check of compliance with legislation in the field of interethnic relations, during which they discovered the website yaplakal.com and two other portals with jokes.

“The pages of these Internet resources contain materials (humorous content in text format) containing statements that can be classified as degrading human dignity, as well as aimed at discriminating and insulting persons on the basis of nationality and race,” the prosecutor’s office said.

Exactly what materials we are talking about is not specified. As a result, the court agreed with the prosecutors' arguments. On April 23, information on all three sites was declared prohibited. At the same time, at the time of publication of this news, sites have not yet been added to the Roskomnadzor register.

In 2020, YaPlakal was included in the register of information dissemination organizers

“YaPlakal” is one of the oldest and most popular entertainment portals in the Russian-language segment of the Internet. In 2020, the site was included in the register of organizers of information dissemination (ORI) and was required to store information about all user actions and their correspondence, and in case of requests from intelligence officers, to provide the specified information upon request.
