The center of Moscow was completely blocked off on Victory Day a few hours before the start of the parade. It remained empty afterwards. Cafes and shops in the city center were closed on May 9. Mobile Internet was completely turned off for several hours; it was impossible to even access websites from the “white lists.” On media facades and screens installed on city streets, a replay of the parade and a “virtual “Immortal Regiment”” were shown - with portraits of participants in the Great Patriotic War against the backdrop of Red Square.
