A ninth-grader brought an air pistol to school and opened fire. Two children were injured. At first he shot at his classmates in the office. Luckily, he missed. Then he ran out into the corridor, came across younger schoolchildren and shot again. A first-grader and a second-grader were injured. The shooter's younger sister is in first grade at the same school.

Having fired back, the teenager ran out of the school into the street and tried to escape, but was detained by the police who arrived at the scene. A criminal case of hooliganism has been opened. The condition of the wounded children is satisfactory.

Law enforcement officers have already found out that the teenager bought an air pistol on one of the marketplaces using his mother’s account.

What prompted him to shoot up a school? Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratyev has already sent a commission from the regional Ministry of Education to Gulkevichi to look into it.

Meanwhile, information appeared in the media that the shooter allegedly suffered from mental illness. Studying was harder for him than for his classmates. The day before, the boy found out that he had failed the oral interview in the Russian language, which ninth-graders must pass in order to be admitted to the Unified State Exam. In February he failed the interview for the first time, and in April for the second time. It is reported that the student came to the April retake shortly after his father’s funeral. The young man was very worried and asked to reschedule the interview, but he was refused.

Surprisingly, there are a lot of comments in Krasnodar public pages that can be called sympathetic towards the teenager who shot.

Parents of schoolchildren write that he found himself in a hopeless situation - he was not admitted to the Unified State Examination and, therefore, remains in the second year in the ninth grade.

Commentators ask who decided that a boy suffering from mental illness, who cannot pass an interview in Russian, even needs to study further? Why can't you leave school and just go to work after ninth grade? There is already an answer to this on the social network: “The fact of the matter is that you can’t score or go to work after the ninth. By law, children are required to study either 11th grade or until they are 18 years old. Schools require a certificate where the child is enrolled further, without it they are sent to guardianship. That is, they put a lot of pressure on children, that they must pass, study, otherwise everything will be bad.”
