A criminal case was opened against three residents of Chelyabinsk, aged 35, 37 and 39, for the illegal collection and use of personal data obtained illegally (part 3 of Article 272.1 of the Criminal Code), the press service of the regional department of the Investigative Committee reported .
According to investigators, for six years - from December 5, 2019 to May 14, 2026 - the suspects used the Russian’s data, which was stored in “departmental information resources, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs database.” The names of those detained are not disclosed.
In the video published by the Investigative Committee, FSB officers and investigators come to search the home of two suspects. One of the men confirms that he “agrees” with the essence of the suspicions.
Ura.ru, with reference to the press service of the regional FSB, writes that the suspects “organized a shadow business based on telegram channels” with sending information “about any person.”
“The attackers obtained this data through personal connections with government officials,” the report says.
