Gymnasts from Russia and Belarus were allowed to perform with the flag and anthem

The Executive Committee of the International Gymnastics Federation allowed Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in international competitions with national symbols.

Details. The decision came into force after a meeting held on May 16-17 in Sharm el-Sheikh.

It applies to all disciplines of the Russian Gymnastics Federation: artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, trampolining, sports acrobatics and sports aerobics.

Sports acrobatics athletes will be the first to perform under the Russian flag at the World Cup stage in Bulgarian Burgas from May 29 to 31.

Russian gymnasts were suspended from competitions under the auspices of the International Gymnastics Federation in 2022. From 2024 they could only participate in a neutral status.
