Activist Mikhail Kriger, sentenced to seven years in prison, has had his term of detention in a single cell-type premises (EPKT) extended for another six months, the project “Support for Political Prisoners” reported . Memorial".

Tightened conditions of detention were supposed to end on May 12. The human rights project does not specify what exactly is the reason for the extension of the deadline in the EPCT.

Krieger is serving his sentence in Oryol IK-5. In September 2025, after being repeatedly placed in a punishment cell (punishment cell), he went on a hunger strike, which he held for more than 50 days. After this, Krieger was left in EPKT.

The colony staff explained the activist’s isolation by saying that the FSIN supposedly had information about the risks to his life and health if he were kept together with other prisoners. In May 2023, the court sentenced Mikhail Kriger to seven years in prison because of posts and comments on Facebook in which, according to investigators, he called for Putin to be hanged and “encroached on the lives of FSB officers.” The man was found guilty of calls for terrorism and inciting hatred with the threat of violence.

In his last word, the activist said that he really dreams of living to see “Putin’s hanging.” Then Krieger also noted that the posts imputed to him are only a reason for criminal prosecution.
