A resident of Severomorsk and his Ukrainian girlfriend were sentenced to 14 and 12 years in prison in the case of financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The Murmansk regional court sentenced Ukrainian Polina Kuzmina and Severomorsk resident Vladimir Grabovetsky to 12 and 14 years in prison in the case of financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine. RIA Novosti reports this with reference to the press service of the court.
According to the security forces, Grabovetsky, “opposing the conduct of the SVO,” figured out how to send donations to the Ukrainian army. To do this, he “involved Polina Kuzmina, who could transfer money to the territory of Ukraine through her relatives.”
In total, from December 2022 to May 2024, the defendants sent 78 money transfers to Ukraine. The investigation claims that with these funds the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the SBU purchased personal protective equipment, drones and vehicles.
As a result, Grabovetsky was accused of treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code) and sentenced to 14 years in prison. Kuzmina was found guilty of aiding and abetting high treason (clause 5 of part 3 of article 33, article 275 of the Criminal Code) and sentenced her to 12 years in prison. Both must also pay a fine: Grabovetsky - 450 thousand rubles, and Kuzmina - 400 thousand rubles.
