TikTok carried out a wave of blocking of bloggers advertising Alabuga Polytech

On May 18, the administration of the social network TikTok blocked a number of accounts that published advertisements for Alabuga Polytech. Blogger Alexey Gubanov ( JesusAVGN, Jesus) drew attention to this .

“At the same time, a whole bunch of TikTokers were blocked, now it’s even difficult to calculate the exact number, but there are quite a lot of them. Apparently, not all tiktokers have yet realized that they should remove Alabuga advertising from their accounts, so as not to end up getting banned,” Gubanov wrote.

Judging by the screenshots from his publication, the channels of bloggers otesayy (he had 1.4 million subscribers), typahanter (780.7 thousand), mich.floww (14.8 thousand) and prostodashenkkaa (6.2 thousand) were blocked, among others.

TikTok began blocking channels and videos advertising Alabuga Polytech in early May. Then the blocking included the account of blogger Yan Shaimukhametov ( ynchq , Yanchik) with 11.9 million subscribers and videos from the channels of Vitaly Andreev ( ANDREEV_avc, 355.2 thousand subscribers) and Sofia Raikunova (Peach, 10.6 million subscribers). In total, according to activists’ calculations, by May 6, at least 122 videos had been removed from the social network.

At the end of April, the Twitch streaming platform blocked the accounts of players and streamers who broadcast from the Counter-Strike 2 championship from Alabuga Polytech and posted advertising banners for the college. Some of the blocked streamers were in the top 100 of Russian Twitch in terms of audience size.

"Alabuga Polytech" is located in the special economic zone of the same name in Tatarstan. After the Russian invasion of Ukraine began, the production of Iranian Shahed drones was organized in Alabuga, in which underage Polytech students were involved. The college is under US and EU sanctions.
