In St. Petersburg, an artist of the Mariinsky Theater shot an 11-year-old boy playing the saxophone on the street

In the Admiralteysky district of St. Petersburg, a 38-year-old local resident shot an 11-year-old boy who was playing the saxophone on the street with a pneumatic weapon, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

A resident of a neighboring house “didn’t like” the child playing on the street, and he decided to “punish” the musician by shooting out the window.

The boy was hospitalized. Fontanka writes that the bullet hit him in the cheek. The child was taken to the hospital and the bullet was removed.

The shooter was detained and is suspected of hooliganism with the use of a weapon (Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code). The maximum penalty for this is imprisonment for a term of up to seven years. The name of the detainee has not been released.

According to Fontanka, the incident occurred near the Mariinsky Theater, and the shooter was a theater artist originally from Kazakhstan. According to information from the website, he is listed in the troupe in the Mimans (mimic ensemble) category.
