Putin said he had “heard” about a drone in Romania, but did not know what kind of drone it was. He suggested handing over the wreckage to Russia - then Moscow would give its assessment. According to him, Ukrainian drones flew into different countries and the first reaction was always “the Russians are hitting.”
The Romanian Ministry of Defense previously identified the drone as the Russian “Geran-2”: on the night of May 28-29, it crashed into a ten-story residential building in the city of Galati, two residents were hospitalized, 70 were evacuated. The Romanian Foreign Ministry called the incident a “serious escalation” on the part of Moscow. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, debris from Russian drones has been found on Romanian territory 47 times.
