In annexed Crimea, the sale of gasoline was limited to 20 liters per day. Many gas stations don't have fuel, and where you can buy it, there are long lines of cars. The shortage arose due to attacks by Ukrainian drones that remotely mine the highway connecting Crimea with the Rostov region. Drones drop explosive devices on the road, which are triggered when motion is detected. This route is one of the main routes for fuel supply to the peninsula. Gasoline is also transported on ferries across the Kerch Strait, but the crossing is not always open due to weather conditions. Fuel is not transported across the Kerch Bridge for safety reasons.
