Tasnim: Iran suspends negotiations with US

Iranian negotiators will suspend communications with US officials, Iran's state-run Tasnim news agency reported, without citing a source.

This decision, as stated in the report, was made in connection with Israeli strikes on Lebanon, where the facilities of the Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah are located. Iran noted that Lebanon was among the conditions of the truce with the United States, but fighting continues “on all fronts.”

Tehran also intends to “completely block” passage through the Strait of Hormuz and “activate other fronts,” including the Bab al-Mandeb Strait .

• Iran and the United States agreed to a truce in early April. A few weeks later the ceasefire was extended to Israel and Lebanon. Despite the truce, the sides continue to exchange blows. Thus, at the end of May, the United States launched new “defensive strikes” against Iran. Tehran responded by saying it had attacked an American air base.
• Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered an expansion of the ground operation in Lebanon and attacks on the southern suburbs of Beirut, including Dahiya, a Hezbollah stronghold. This decision was allegedly made after the Lebanese group intensified attacks on the northern regions of Israel. Iran said it viewed Israel's actions as a violation of the truce and threatened consequences.
