• A court in St. Petersburg sentenced Mikhail Loshchinin to 16 years in a maximum security colony under the article of treason. According to investigators, the reason for initiating the case was his correspondence with his ex-girlfriend from Ukraine and the transfer of money to her. Loshchinin was detained at the border in the Pskov region when he was traveling to Russia to visit his sick father.
  • The Tverskoy Court of Moscow transferred Novaya Gazeta journalist Oleg Roldugin from a pre-trial detention center to house arrest. In April, he was accused of illegal use and storage of personal data - this is the first time that Article 272.1 of the Criminal Code was used against a journalist for working with leaks. The decision to mitigate the preventive measure initiated the investigation due to the fact that Roldugin provided for his children and elderly parents, and his partial admission of guilt.
  • The Pervomaisky District Court of Kirov sentenced Alexandra Pugach, the daughter of Putin’s confidant, in absentia to six years in prison in the case of military “fakes” and calls against state security. The court also banned her from administering the sites for three and a half years. The reason for the case was her speech at an anti-war rally in Georgia and publications in support of Ukraine.
  • The St. Petersburg City Court overturned the decision to fine and expel Uzbek citizen Faizullojon Dadaboev, who had previously been prosecuted for praying on the lawn of a residential building. The court indicated that the case materials contained no information about signs of missionary activity, and sent the case for a new trial. Dadaboev was released from the temporary detention center for foreign citizens.

According to investigators, on May 7, a woman tore off a poster with a St. George ribbon and threw it into a flowerbed.
