“The Russian side is choosing war again.” Zelensky - about Putin’s refusal to meet with him

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that Vladimir Putin does not want to end the war. This is how he commented on the Russian president’s response to his open letter.

“Unfortunately, the Russian side is choosing war again - everyone heard today’s answer. Weak answer. He just doesn't want to end the war. I think that many in the world were disappointed by this answer. He doesn’t want to change anything and doesn’t want to admit that only he and those who extract money from him like his war - they were all very smiling today. This means that Russia should have less money, and there should be more pressure on Russia. I thank everyone who helps us! I thank everyone who is with Ukraine, who wants real peace,” says the Ukrainian president’s Telegram channel.

• On the evening of June 4, Zelensky published an open letter to Putin. In it, he invited the Russian President to meet in person to agree on ending the war.
• The next day, Putin, speaking at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, said that he saw no point in meeting with Zelensky now. According to him, Ukraine wants to stop the offensive of the Russian army in this way.
• Putin alsoclaims that Zelensky asked him for a personal meeting through one of the Russian businessmen - several weeks before he published an open letter proposing to end the war. This proposal was conveyed to Putin on May 21, and the next day “Ukrainian troops carried out a terrible terrorist attack on a college dormitory in the Lugansk People’s Republic, where children and teenagers died.” According to him, he asked the businessman “what does it mean - they ask for a meeting and commit such terrible crimes.”
