The Ministry of Digital Arts asked to unblock Roblox in Russia

At the beginning of June, the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation agreed with the Roblox gaming platform on the necessary conditions to protect the rights and interests of Russian users, the department said.

“The corporation recognized that existing technologies for protecting children from information dangerous to their life and health were ineffective,” the Ministry of Digital Development said in a statement.

Roblox has given guarantees that it will introduce a set of measures to additionally protect children from “harmful and dangerous information,” as well as from unwanted behavior of other users, the ministry noted. Starting in June, access to games will be limited by age group. In addition, the platform will combat the spread of content “harmful to the health and development of children.”

In this regard, the Ministry of Digital Development and Roskomnadzor appealed to the “relevant law enforcement agencies” with a request to support the lifting of restrictions on access to Roblox in Russia.

• The Roblox gaming platform was blocked in early December 2025, as stated by Roskomnadzor, for distributing “extremist” materials and “LGBT propaganda.” The blockage affected millions of Russian gamers; in some regions, residents protested against the restrictions. Soon, RKN reported that the platform’s management expressed its readiness to “gradually bring its work into compliance with the requirements of Russian legislation.”
