The increase in prices for higher education in 2026 will be lower than last year. — said Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Andrey Omelchuk

According to Omelchuk, the average cost of education in the country will increase by less than 11%, although last year the increase was about 13%.

Omelchuk also said that the increase in tuition fees at individual universities may vary, for example, at leading universities it is higher. And the most significant factor that affects the cost of training is the increase in the average salary of teachers.

• Earlier, the Ministry of Education and Science reported that the cost of first-year education at Russian universities in 2026 increased by an average of 10.7%.
