Putin awarded Moscow State University rector Viktor Sadovnichy for “outstanding achievements in the field of humanitarian work.”

“[Sadovnichy] is a man of broad scientific erudition, large-scale thinking, the ability to see the future and quickly implement his plans; he has headed the country’s flagship university for more than 30 years,” Putin said during the rector’s award ceremony.
