Rustam Minnikhanov said that residents were evacuated. The authorities are preparing a temporary accommodation facility at a nearby camp. The head of Tatarstan clarified that three people were injured and “they are receiving the necessary medical care.”

Minnikhanov also said that drones attacked “enterprises.” He did not say which ones exactly. According to the head of Tatarstan, the consequences are “promptly eliminated.” “Production processes have not been stopped. All necessary services are on site,” Minnikhanov wrote.

According to the Ukrainian channel Supernova+, the TANECO oil refinery, which is part of the Tatneft group, is on fire.

The head of the Nizhnekamsk region, Radmir Belyaev, announced the cancellation of all public events planned for today “to ensure security.”

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported in the morning that a UAV was shot down over Tatarstan, but the number of destroyed drones was not specified.

At night, the threat of UAV attacks was announced in Nizhnekamsk, Almetyevsk, Elabuga, Bugulma, Zainsk and Naberezhnye Chelny. At the airports of Kazan, Nizhnekamsk and Bugulma, the arrival and release of aircraft was temporarily limited.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has not yet commented on the attack.

Minister of Health of Tatarstan Almir Abashev reported that “according to the latest data, 4 victims were hospitalized at the Nizhnekamsk Central Regional Multidisciplinary Hospital when a UAV hit a house in Nizhnekamsk.”

“The condition of three is satisfactory, with an acute reaction to stress, under the supervision of doctors. The fourth patient has a shrapnel wound to the lower jaw, his condition is stable, he is being transferred to surgery,” Abashev said.

Astra came to the conclusion that the JSC TANECO oil refinery was attacked in Nizhnekamsk. According to the OSINT analyst of the publication, “at least three fires” were recorded at the enterprise.

“According to Astra’s source, the primary oil processing unit ELOU AVT-9 and the ELOU AVT-8 column are on fire. The third source of fire, presumably, may be located on the territory of TAIF-NK JSC, another refinery located in the same industrial zone as TANECO JSC,” the publication reported.

Later, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces also announced an attack on the TANECO and TAIF-NK oil refineries. According to the Ukrainian military, “the destruction of targets and a fire on the territory of both enterprises were confirmed.”

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine added that the TANECO oil refining complex is “one of the largest oil refineries” in Russia. The Ukrainian military also reported that TAIF-NK's ​​products "are distributed across several key segments - from bulk fuel to specific raw materials for petrochemicals and military needs."

“JSC TANECO is a modern high-tech oil refining complex in Nizhnekamsk, part of the structure of PJSC Tatneft. The installed capacity of the enterprise is 16.2 million tons of oil per year. The complex is one of the most efficient refineries in Russia,” Astra clarified.

Journalists of the publication also added that TAIF-NK JSC is “a large oil refining complex in Nizhnekamsk, part of the TAIF group”: “The enterprise annually processes more than 8 million tons of oil and gas condensate into high-quality Euro-5 fuels and jet fuel.”

Journalists from Astra analyzed videos and photographs of a damaged house in Nizhnekamsk. Earlier, Tatarstan authorities said that it was hit by a drone.

Astra clarified that the published footage shows smoke coming from the upper floors of the house, “and only then there is a strong explosion.”

“Probably, either the warhead of a drone that had previously entered the house, or the gas equipment in one of the apartments, damaged as a result of a drone hit, could have detonated,” the publication writes.

In addition, the journalists clarified that “the nature of the damage in the photographs and videos of eyewitnesses indicates an explosion from the inside.”

“For example, the structures of balconies from the explosion were deformed outward, not inward. In addition, in local chats, residents wrote that the explosion sounded only a few minutes after the drone hit the house,” Astra reported.
