In the Bryansk region, a Ukrainian drone hit a bus with a children's football team from Gomel, said acting head of the region Yegor Kovalchuk.
According to him, the attack killed a woman accompanying the team. Six more people, including four children, were injured and were hospitalized. They received shrapnel wounds, said Russian Children's Ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova. The remaining passengers will be returned home.
In total, there were 44 passengers on the bus, 28 of them were children, the Russian Investigative Committee said. All of them were heading to Gelendzhik on vacation.
The Investigative Committee of Russia and Belarus opened a criminal case regarding the terrorist attack. The Belarusian Foreign Ministry condemned the attack and demanded “exhaustive explanations” from Ukraine.
A representative of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine called reports of a drone strike on a bus with children from Belarus in the Bryansk region “an information provocation by the Kremlin.” He stressed that Ukraine did not launch drones in the region.
