The head of Bashkortostan , Radiy Khabirov, at the plenary meeting of the V media forum of the republic's media, explained why sirens do not sound in the region during a missile threat.
- When everything is so difficult, when we wake up in the morning, beeping, you have declared a missile and drone danger here... Believe me, in principle, according to the regulations, I still need to turn on these sirens. Will it be normal? What, are we going to turn on the sirens every other day? Therefore, you need to approach everything wisely. <...> They write in the media that the consumption of antidepressants in the Russian Federation has increased. Well, probably yes,” said Khabirov.
The last time a missile threat was declared in Bashkortostan was on June 10. The UTV television channel clarifies that in the republic “sirens have never worked in case of missile or UAV danger.” At the same time, in neighboring regions - Tatarstan, Udmurtia, Perm Territory - the authorities turn on the sirens.
The head of Bashkortostan also said that “at least until the elections” he banned the heads of municipalities from going to the front.
- Don’t interfere, I always ask everyone. <...> Well, firstly, there is something to do, and, secondly, the situation there is very difficult. And the military correspondent is the target, and representatives of the municipal, republican authorities, federal authorities - they are the target [of the Armed Forces of Ukraine],” he said.
Bashkortostan has been repeatedly attacked by drones. The republic leads in the number of identified deaths in the war against Ukraine in Russia as a whole - the war claimed the lives of at least 10,236 military personnel from the republic.
