Great Britain tested new long-range missiles intended for Ukraine

The UK has successfully tested new long-range missiles intended for Ukraine, writes the Financial Times.

These weapons are created without the use of components from the United States, which will avoid the need to ask Washington for permission to use them for strikes deep into Russian territory.

“We don't want gun approval to depend on how negotiations go,” an unnamed British official told the Financial Times.

According to The Telegraph, the new missiles carry a warhead weighing 250 kilograms and are capable of covering a distance of almost 500 kilometers.

After additional tests planned for this year, the new missiles will be put into mass production. They can enter service with the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the end of 2026.

• The UK has begun developing its own missile to help Ukraine in 2024. This happened against the backdrop of a US ban, fearing escalation, from firing Storm Shadow and ATACMS missiles deep into Russian territory.
