And this raises a very special question for me - will the real blockade of Crimea be some kind of turning point in terms of interaction with Russian leaders?
Yes, they certainly invested a lot in being associated with the victory with which they broadcast the annexation of Crimea. But now it’s not 2022, we’re in the fifth year of a war under whose wheels a lot has already been thrown.
I can well imagine that Crimea, which was previously positioned as a “showcase of our achievements,” will also be thrown there.
Propaganda will simply transform the heroic narrative into a sacrificial one - and go about “they want to turn our pearl into besieged Leningrad, our prayers are with the suffering Crimeans!”

It’s no longer interesting about Crimea, events there are developing as predicted here: transport collapse in terms of gasoline, cessation of train operations, consumer panic, coupons, and soon there will be cards. The only small news is that the Ukrainian Armed Forces want to make holes in the bridges on the isthmuses in order to completely block traffic there from the “mainland.”
The situation in the mainland occupied territories, especially in the Black Sea region, is developing a little more interestingly, but predictably. The traffic flow along the Novorossiya highway fell three times, the Ministry of Defense officially abandoned military transport along it, the first reports, with an unknown degree of reliability, appeared about the withdrawal of advanced Russian units from the most distant sections of the front in terms of logistics - so far at the end of the Kinburn Spit. We'll see if this happens in reality. Let us recall that the Russian Armed Forces already left the islands in the Dnieper delta in 2024, but then returned because the Armed Forces of Ukraine were unable to provide regular supplies to their units there. But anything can happen – scale is important here. If not a single vehicle with a carrying capacity of more than one and a half tons dares to appear west of Melitopol on any roads, then “everything will be”, the Russian Dnepr group is unlikely to last more than a couple of months without supplies. (We will sympathize with the population for what remains).
However, there are two main news. Middle-strike drones began to confidently strike beyond Belgorod and Kursk, as well as in the Lugansk region up to Izvarino (including Shchastye), taking out the logistics of the groups and no longer paying attention to Russian air defense. This should lead to tactical successes for the Armed Forces of Ukraine - at least in the form of stopping the advance of the Russian Armed Forces on Slavyansk.
But the fact that these same drones began to attack Russian electric locomotives in the border areas promises their quick access to the main railway and road lines connecting Russia with Belarus. These lines were previously considered strategic, and now, when the Russian Federation has begun to experience a shortage of all main types of fuel for internal combustion engines, and Belarus remains the center for refining its own and Russian oil supplied to the Russian market, cutting off or at least a significant slowdown in these supplies (especially by rail) could additionally and very significantly aggravate the Russian fuel crisis. And all this can happen in just a week. The situation in the Russian rear already looks like it’s entering a peak, but these are still clearly flowers, the berries will be in season, by July.

Each powerful blow to the peninsula’s military installations reminds one of a simple thing: Crimea is not a Russian fortress. This is the occupied territory of Ukraine. And the more often sirens sound over military bases, the clearer the panic becomes in the Kremlin corridors.
Putin built his political career on myths. The main one is Crimea. It was the annexation of the peninsula that became his coronation. But any crown has an unpleasant property: it can turn into a noose.

And the worst thing for the Kremlin is not even military losses.
The worst thing is the crack in the consciousness of Russians.
If Crimea can be lost, it means it was never acquired legally.
If Crimea is not Russian, then the entire propaganda pyramid is built on lies.
If the myth about Crimea collapses, the myth about the infallible leader will follow it.
