In Belarus, the convicted ex-fighter of the regiment Kalinovsky Veremeychik was placed in the PKT. His wife thinks he had a heart attack.

In Belarus, former soldier of the Kalinovsky regiment Vasily Veremeychik, sentenced to 13 years in prison, was placed in a PKT - a cell-type room. His wife Evgenia told Nasha Niva about this.

Veremeychik was detained on November 13, 2024 in Vietnam, and the very next day he was taken to Minsk. In December 2025, he was convicted under 12 articles of the Criminal Code, including participation in a criminal organization, actions to seize power and insulting Alexander Lukashenko. He is serving his sentence in IK-17 in Shklov.

According to his wife, he was examined in the colony, after which he was prescribed strong drugs: aspicard, clopidogrel, atorvastatin and metoprolol. "There are signs of a serious cardiovascular disease, probably of an ischemic nature, with a high risk of thrombotic complications. The prescribed therapy (antiplatelet agents, beta blockers, statins) is typical for patients after a myocardial infarction or at high risk of developing it. The condition requires constant medical monitoring and can worsen in isolation," she noted.

At the beginning of June, Veremeychik was supposed to be transferred to the hospital at the Minsk pre-trial detention center No. 1 to undergo heart surgery. But instead, as Evgenia Veremeychik notes, her husband was “thrown into a punishment cell, and then even into the PKT.” He added that he was included in the humanitarian list of political prisoners with serious health problems demanding early release.

Vasily Veremeychik (call sign “Patsuk”) graduated from the Military Academy of Belarus, served in the Belarusian army, participated in protests in 2020, then moved to Ukraine. After the start of a full-scale invasion, according to the Nasha Niva publication, he joined the Kalinovsky regiment, where he served as deputy commander of the Volat battalion. In 2024, he was elected to the Coordination Council of the Belarusian Opposition from the Prokopyev-Egorov Bloc and became a co-founder of the Association of Belarusian Volunteers.
